This workshop was designed to show secondary school students the link between physics and audio engineering while demonstrating to them in a fun and interactive way the modern tools of a music producer.
The workshop is an hour in duration and invites the students to get involved throughout. The running order of the workshop is as follows:
Introduction to the concepts of sound-waves, frequency and amplitude.
Showcase of modern industry standard music composition tools and proof that thanks to today’s technology anyone can make professional sounding songs.
Breaking down the musical elements of modern arrangements.
Record a known modern pop song from scratch using only sounds provided by the students themselves.
Short recap over the main principles.
Each student can take home a copy of the song that their class made.
